Thank you all. I am determined to keep this vehicle as original as possible which to me means Original. What is a round finback alternator, Danny? Would that be more appropriate than a dealer installed alternator? More Kosher? Preferable to just having my mechanic put an alternator on in place of the existing generator? You mentioned a ‘63? The other car in my ultra small collection is a 1963 aqua Pace Car convertible. I believe I have a picture of the engine which might include the alternator. I’ll look for it. And Tony, thank you. Before I make a move I’ll check out your suggestion. about the alternative. I told my guy to wait until tomorrow. Jamie suggested I talk to John and I left a message for him at Mecum. Thanks. Yours in the continuing struggle to keep these 300s going and going and going!
