I'd really be interested in the cost aspect of the build.

A stock stroke 318 Poly easily nets 300-325HP and a boatload of torque for a “daily driver” with very mild mods and costs commensurate with the LA318; headers and intake are the only above-average expenditures.  A 390-402” Poly Stroker with net an easy 400-425HP and 440-450ft. lbs. of torque with a mild [email protected]” cam, four barrel or multi-carb induction, and the rest of the “usual” performance mods.  Reaching the near 500HP/500ft.lbs. of torque is the next level.
 
The step-by-step info. for the 402” Poly is on Gary Hamels 62-65 site. 
 
I can provide you with the Poly cost and HP/Torque “recipies” off-line if you like.

What was the dollar amount on that build?  I had no idea a 318 poly could make that kind of power.  Step by step info would be real nice.
