(If my memory serves me right, it's the correct spelling of the word in english). First of all, the word in french is "carburateur", which comes from "carburant", a generic name for whatever you can feed to an internal combustion engine. And no, it does not come from "Who's the devious #&�*/ that built that filthy +*-%$# piece of junk !"
