Dan, I've got to say that, since reading your e-mail about this car, I've been able to think of nothing else. So much so that now, at 3:00 in the morning and after having gone to bed, I've come back and turned back on the computer to write because I woke up finding myself DREAMING about the car. Out of all cars made, the '58 Regal Lancer is the one I'd most like to own. Been staring wishing for a long, long time at whatever ads in Hemmings list them for sale. Never have run into one listed at a price I might be able to afford. Saw one once when I went to look at a '58 Coronet for sale in CT. The guy selling that car had a Regal Lancer, too, in his garage. He'd found it locally, listed in one of those local Pennysaver papers that he was reading while on line at the grocery. Somewhere here I have his name and number. Though you haven't decided to buy it yet, would you mind telling how you happened to find it is now? And that -- a car with everything -- it's sitting abandoned in a field now, it's pretty much a riches-to-rags story. "How in God's name did you wind up here," one would ask it if it were alive. What's its history, I wonder? Got to be a good one. Was it someone's personal car, or maybe some special display model, and what owners did it go through before it was left out where it is. I think I've read that there's still a supply of Regal Lancer NOS interiors available from one of the interiors vendors. SMS, maybe? And were there ever any period Drive Reports published about these cars, does anyone know? Haven't found any, myself, only promotional blurbs. I'd post it if I could find one. And finally, just wondering, what color combination is it? Thanks for the good think.
