That might have been the case in the very distant past but nowadays it means
to cross out Christ from Christmas, even though intentions might have been
good it doesn't take away from the fact that it is a slight to a majority of
people in this country,  I would never think of slighting another persons
belief though I'm sure in this case it was not intended.
