Hi Carl, I just purchased my '72 imperial this past July. It's gray with white interior. The sides have several dings and two sizeable dents in the front passenger side fender. The paint on the sides is still shiny, and the vinyl roof is in good shape, but the top of the hood and trunk are rather dull. The interior was quite dirty, but came up decent after weeks of cleaning. Not much rust, except behind the rear tires and a bit of surface rust on the frame. I purchased it for $2,500 (the previous owner claimed it was what he put into getting the brakes rebuilt and he just wanted his money back). I was a little uncertain of the price, but after some elbow grease and a tune up I stood back and realized it was money well spent. She still has plenty of projects in her, but she wasn't in bad condition for a 35 year old girl. I don't know if that helps, but it's a start for you. Also, she came with a little extra; The undercarriage looked like it was from the movie arachnophobia. After sitting in the garage for ONE DAY there would be several spider webs extending to the floor. Little did I know when I made the purchase she would come complete with hitchhikers! hmmm... maybe the whole 'land yacht' thing confused them. It has lots of dings and dents but is definitely in respectable condition.
