I like to think that I've been around. Have not heard of a reluctor pickup coil before.
Can you describe/explain it to me?

Is this an electronic ignition car? I had an elusive problem with one before. It turned out to be the reluctor pickup coil. Worked fine when cold, but after a while it exhibited similar problems to yours. I changed it out and all my problems went away.

cleaning the bulkhead connectors solved half of the problems. The worst half, I might add.
