I have a 58 Belvedere that I am currently restoring. I found out from the machine shop that it had been rebuilt at least once before. The number on the block is LP8 123656. Can you tell from this number if it is a 1958 engine? Also, has anybody had experience with the Fram Oil Filter conversion kit? I remember reading on the discussion board that some folks had a problem with them leaking. Is it worth it to install the kit? Finally, I'm in the midst of rebuilding this engine. Would any of you care to volunteer to receive e-mailed questions? I've already had a Crank bolt break while checking clearances. I expect this is going to be a long road for me.
