ral-I understand your plight. Everyone does have their own idea of what is restored. Long distance buying can be the pits. This is why a long question and answer period is a must. Who restored, and how, is critical, especially if your idea of restored is perfect to the original. But even then you need to be familiar with the quality of the restorer. But, don't always assume that a professional restoration is better than a private job. I have seen some excellent home jobs, with exacting attention to detail, and some pretty lousy professional jobs. But remember, the professional does to the level commissioned by the owner. Sorry you had the experience but, turn it into a learning opportunity. Good luck.
