In just about any issue of auto trader there is usually a key that explains what a 1 2 3 4 or 5 mean. Generally a "1" car is a completely frame-off (or body off for you unibody types) nut and bolt 100 point car that would easily win best of show in the majority of shows entered. A "2" car is about a 90-96 point car that has a few minor problems (like wrong date codes on the hoses, something doesnt work correctly) these could be an older restoration that still looks good. a "3" car could be a survivor with the original paint, a few belmishes are to be expected, should not have any rust. The interior should be in fair to good condition, with maybe a few minor issues. Good running and driving condition, could be used as a daily car. a "4" car is in poor condition with a bad paint job, or the original faded and scratched paint. Car may or may not run, will most likely have some body/structural rust. Interior in poor condition, vehicle in need of a complete restoration. A "5" car will be a parts car, with or without engine and some serious body damage/rust. Hope this helps! Jon
