The company that originally repaired the tank used some sort of a butyl coating on the inside of the tank. Since that was done I let the fuel dry out with the associated varnish deposits that love to screw up the carb. The repair shop I went to to have it cleaned out tells me that anything they could do to clean out the varnish would also partially dissolve the interior coating and create even more problems with loose debris in the tank. I'm wondering if there is any way to salvage the tank.
