Could be the rubber on the motor mounts is shot- before my engine (277 with mech lifters 4 barrel 56 plymouth) was rebuilt it shook the front end at the right engine speed. Of course the bent rods and paper shimmed bearings had a bit to do with why it was shaking- then the thumping noise started and I knew it was major rebuild time- no getting by with just a valve job- $1800 later- runs smooth.
