I don't know for a fact that it will work with the earlier valve body on the cast iron 727trany, or if a later alum trany valve body can be used on the cast iron case. but the A and B bodies had floor cable shifters, trucks A100(64 to 67) and D100 (65 to 67) have dash shifters but the cable ends are differant than the push button cables ends. The early A body used the 904 and I belive that the ends on both the cables on the 727 and 904 shifters are the same, but not postive,.... bottom line, right valve body has to be used with right shifter, or the trany may try to be in 2 gears at the same time, I cooked one trying to use a 63pb valve body in a 65 column shift cable shift 727 once, wanted to be in 1st and rev at the same time, lasted a week and self destructed! learned the hard way!!! but will never foget it!! HA! Ouch..... Jeffc
