Old MOPARs did have the threaded holes through the exhaust into the coolant. Also some head bolt holes on some go through as well! Best course of action that I have had in the past is to chase the threads very good with a tap and blow out with aire after a squirt of acetone. Then use the plumber's teflon paste to coat the threads and tighten into the heads using a double-nut technique. This should seal the threads. Headbolts get same service except for the double-nut part.
