I understand it works with the following qualifiers. First, you need to stabilize the crack. No just smearing on top. This means you will have to grind a V into the crack and fill, plus drill the holes at the ends, and fill them as well. I think it all has to be applied as one treatment, as it may not stick to itself well if "layered". Secondly, it will not work if the crack has affected the structural strength of the object (eg: loading stresses on manifold). Lastly, I think it is only good to around 1800F, so it can burn out for temperatures above that for long times.
