Rodger...The 1956 Passenger side exhaust manifold has a seperate heat valve. It is integrated in the 1957. The Driver's side 1956 is a unique part compared to the 1957, as the 1957 used the passenger side on the driver's side with NO heat valve(just the unmachined casting in that respect, although obviously finished for head and exhaust pipe. Also not choke tube drilled in this manifold. I think the 1955 291 Fireflite driver's side exhaust is pretty similar to a '56 unit. The ports are slightly more oval in the 56. Same with the passenger side unit.
