When a 6-cylinder '58 Plymouth was ordered with Sure-Grip,it was equipped with the 8¾" rear axle as well (a required upgrade). If you want Sure-Grip,you will have to swap in an 8¾" rear axle. You may as well use a 1965-70 C-body axle and avoid the servicing problems that the pre-65 tapered axle shafts present. For any V8 swap beyond a mild 318,an 8¾" should be on your list!
