Jonny, I seriously doubt whether you would see any differnce in HP if you ran them back to back on a Dyno. The spacing springs just don't exert enough force. Just make sure that everything turns nicely when you assemble the engine. The biggest frictional losses are the piston rings. There's not much you can do there apart from going to thinner rings (say 1/8 instead of 5/64) although these are not as durable on the street. My opinion (and it is mine) would be to leave the factory set up alone and concentrate on other areas of blueprinting.
