The original V-800 has a special high-performance camshaft as well. If your car can idle smoothly at 600 rpm, that cam is NOT in your engine! I would suspect that a complete 1960 engine with the '260 hp' (318 4-bbl 'Power-Pack') camshaft was installed (By the dealer, since the car was only three years old). MY 1960 Plymouth wagon had a (new leftover dealer stock) 1958 3:15 axle gearset dealer installed in place of the original 3:54 open gears. (the car is now 3:55 Sure-Grip!)
