The spool mounts from '73-up are bigger and might be harder to adapt to different locations than regular 1962-72 mounts. That said,a 6-cyl. car would require the most modification ANYWAY,so yes later mounts would be worth investigating! Latest isn't always best,I'd rather have a '70-71 440 6-pack than a 1978 cast crank low-compression 440 (given the choice and assuming both were in good shape),for example.
