Just as a note,I never SAW any leaks from the wheel cylinder,but brake fluid evaporates very well (especially with heat). The time when I started off with the "dry" shoe where fluid appeared after the first lockup,I dabbed a bit onto a test paper and sent it out to a lab,and sure enough it was brake fluid! Since even a hot tank couldn't get it out,it was time for new shoes! (a reline,at least!) An oval drum surface could cause what you describe,but if it does this after resurfacing then keep in mind micro-leaks and shoe contamination.
