Yes,Chrysler beefed up the journals & mains in 1960, but I never heard of any problems with the '59's (and I've talked to several owners of them over the years) I mean I wouldn't put a blower or nitrous on it but for normal street use these should be fine. I drove a '59 DeSoto Firelite wagon one time,it had 150K on its 383 and never apart and still ran well. The "other" 383 you refer to is the '59-'60 Chrysler raised block 383,4 1/32" bore and 3.75" stroke (same stroke as the 413-426-440)
