That is what I have been hearing, to stick with the big block. It sounds like a 440 w/ a 727 will be a step up in power, easier to get parts for, and hopefully last longer since it is newer technology.. but that is debatable. So I guess I need a 62-65 727 tranny, because of the different crank of the 62 and up engines, and it can't be too new of a tranny if I want to keep the pushbutton shifting. The trannys don't take a host of special tools to rebuild?
