I heard a knock when turning when driving my '61 Seneca (slant six, cast iron torqueflite auto with driveshaft parking brake); jacked up the car and found that I could grab the back of the tranny (close to the driveshaft) and shift it back and forth, about 6 inches either side. (A most unsettling discovery, just glad it held up on the freeway drive home!!!) It looks to be mounted on a spring type assembly the likes of which I have never seen/worked on before. Could someone give me a quick explanation as to how these trannys mount, and what I need to do to fix the problem? Any and all responses are most welcome! -David
