Well here's my opinion. 1)If you bought the car to make a profit off of then you need a better financial advisor. These cars aren't anyway near as easy to get some replacement parts for as the same year Chevys. Not that the work involved in restoring a Chevy is any easier, or less time consuming, it is just a lot easier to obtain needed parts. 2) From what it sounds like, it seems that you've got a lot more into your car already than it's worth. Even with all the body mods you plan (and it sounds like it would be one hell of an expensive operation to have done) would you be any closer to making your money back? I would be willing to bet you'll wind up spending even more and wind up loosing even more on the sale compared to the cost of the restoration. Then don't forget you'll still need a split front seat (unless you expect passengers in the back seat to crawl through the windows, Dukes of Hazzard style, YeeeeeeeeHaw!)These autos seem to be a labor of love. If you don't want to spend any more on the car then I would suggest dumping it while you can before you put any more money into it. Otherwise when these Mods are done you'll probably find it even harder to sell at the increased price (as there are more people out there willing to spend 5k on an old project car than 20k). Personally I would say just enjoy what you've got. I own a 4 door sedan and love it, but that's me. If your heart is set on 2 doors you'll probably find it cheaper to find a 2 door body and cannibalize your 4 door for it. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Good luck in whatever road you decide to travel with this.
