The fact that brake drums became unavailable from general suppliers after the early '70's has also contributed to the attrition rate,although it may have 'saved' a few that were just parked instead of scrapped. Many '62 Dodge/Ply's survive today because their mechanical relation to later B-bodies means that their brake drums,etc. have stayed available all this time.
