HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOPAR MANIA! I AM A 21 YEAR OLD COLLEGE STUDENT IN EAST TENNESSEE....WHEN I WAS 18, I BOUGHT A 1959 DODGE ROYAL 4 DOOR SEDAN FOR $2500. NOW, A FEW YEARS LATER, I AM IN THE PROCESS OF RESTORING THE CAR AS A WEEKEND DRIVER... TO ASSIST IN KEEPING THE COST LOW, I HAVE ENLISTED THE HELP OF AN AUTO BODY CLASS AT A LOCAL VOCATIONAL SCHOOL... I FEEL THAT YOUR GOAL IS DEFINITELY ATTAINABLE! PLEASE CONTINUE TO STRIVE TOWARD THE DREAM OF OWNING ONE OF THESE BEAUTIES. I HAVE CURRENTLY INVESTED ABOUT $4200 IN THE CAR. BY THE TIME I AM FINISHED WITH THE PROJECT, I HOPE TO HAVE LESS THAN 6 THOUSAND TIED UP IN THE CAR ...(INCLUDING EVERYTHING---TAX, TAGS, TITLE, AND ALL!) MY ONLY PROBLEM HAS BEEN FINDING REPLACEMENT PARTS SUCH AS STAINLESS TRIM, POTMETAL PIECES, AND CHROME ODDS AND ENDS. SHEETMETAL IS ALSO KINDA RARE FOR MOPAR STUFF (FROM THE 50's, ANYWAY) THIS IS BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN SOMETHING OTHER THAN A FORD OR CHEVY... MY ORIGINAL DREAM WAS TO OWN A 57 CHEVY, BUT EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE. WITH A FORWARD LOOK MOPAR, YOU CAN OWN A UNIQUE AND SOMEWHAT RARE CHUNK OF AMERICANA, WITH A LITTLE RUST THROWN IN FOR GOOD MEASURE. IN THE END IT WILL PROBABLY BE WORTH THE INVESTMENT OF $5 OR 6K. ESPECIALLY IF YOU INTEND TO KEEP THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SELL MINE MANY TIMES (BOTH BY MY MOTHER AND INTERESTED BUYERS) BUT THIS ONE BELONGS TO ME. IT IS FUN, BEAUTIFUL, AND AS ONE OF MY CAR-ENTHUSIAST FRIENDS SAYS "BITCH ASS WICKED" TO HAVE AN OLD CAR THAT FEW PEOPLE CAN RECOGNIZE. SO, WITHOUT TAKING ANY MORE OF YOUR TIME, I WILL WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK AS YOU PERHAPS VENTURE INTO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF LATE FIFTIES MOPAR-DOM. HAVE A GREAT DAY. FEEL FREE TO CALL OR E-MAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS.
