About fifteen years ago, a friend living northern Wisconsin mentioned a '58 Plymouth or Dodge that had been "restored." The owner had repainted it pink and white but otherwise, the car was stock. The owner claimed the car was built with the Bendix unit, but had been retrofitted with a carburetor when it was still new. The man supposed had been checking all over the country at older dealerships and tracking down retired Mopar mechanics and parts managers in an attempt to locate a unit. He was hoping onne may have been forgotten on a shelf or in basement somewhere. The car was supposedly in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
