It all depends on several factors, but for simplicity sake, a “long
duration” cam will act smaller in a large cubic inch engine than it would in a
small block; ie my 284/.484” ([email protected]”) Hyd.
Purple Shaft in my 340 Dart is very “lumpy” at idle with a 108LC and would
diminish vacuum signal from power brakes if I had them...although not
unworkable, just not optimum. These are “guidelines” and your best source
for accurate information is from the cam mfgr. regarding a particular grind you
choose...or their recommendation for your specific application.

By the way , what characteristics would a cam with .475
lift on intake and exhaust, with a long duration have? I am going to guess
