Shipping the big factor… I had a friend who sent a brake drum from San Francisco to IL for relining. One front drum and the shipping was $120. A big bumper really makes me wonder on the shipping costs. James From: Kevin
deGraauw <kdegraauw@xxxxxxxxxxx> I received a quote from Electro Plating for about 800 a piece but mine are really straight and rust free. Plus I'm 3 hours away and a courier here in ABQ will deliver these to El
Paso and back for a nominal fee. So shipping can be another (possibly huge) cost to consider. Kevin From:

plated in the last couple of years. I think it would be helpful. James From: John

I've used Sandy's myself. They do good work at a decent price. They can be a bit slow, so keep that in mind. John On Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 09:08:05 AM EST, 'Keith Langendorfer' via Chrysler 300 Club International

Hey John Last year I got quote of $690 for straightening and replating a Studebaker Hawk bumper from this company in
Syracuse. Jamie Hyde is familiar with them and their work. Keith
lets get some hard numbers on 300 bumper plating so we can get somewhere ?
If you are in no way at fault, I would claim on her insurance. That way it gets properly
assessed, no arguments with someone who is clueless, and you don’t pay any excess. Similar thing happened to me with body damage and bent chrome bumper. Because their repair shops couldn’t guarantee a repair with existing rust in the area concerned, they
didn’t want to do the repair and just gave me a cheque for the quote to repair. $600 was allowed for the bumper straightening and re-chrome. Instead, I picked up a good replacement for $100 and pocketed the difference. Didn’t need a new bar on a not so
new car. Also did a dodgy panel repair for $100 and kept the $2000 for that. I doubt I would have been able to force $2600 out of the person directly. That’s why I pay my insurance company to negotiate on my behalf. All in all, I was happy to make money
out of the exercise as compensation for someone backing into my parked car, but I would have been much angrier if it was our new car. Henry

What I am seeing is as low as $700 to as high as $2500. I guess I will tell the lady that $1000 is fine if she wants to pay it herself. If
not and we have to go the insurance route then it will be the actual cost, plus shipping plus labor and possible a rental car until it is done as this is my daily driver now as I have the 1947 Desoto off line. What a PITA. James From:

yes — what is the number that is “reasonable” . we need to find that fair guy and
reward him . I hear good things about a guy in Tennessee , — my go to guy in Mn ( spectacular work)
has gone way up . I am Still there , but getting crazy . To me 2k up is getting crazy , 3500 up is extortion but unless we share numbers no one knows anything . win win here if we handle this right . James , my first drive around town in my 300C convert , a core plug blew out of head
spewing coolant snd steam , about 5000 feet from my home on way back , first drive . A friend in town saw me , spun around U turn “ love your car “ etc I am in a big big hurry have ~ 5 minutes to really big trouble . I turn corner onto my street fast ,
Edison co and cops blocking road(!) bucket truck Had to stop quickly , friend piles into new bumper waving hello . Cop puts hand up yelling about going fast , steam pouring out . Cant make this stress
level up in a very bad dream . In 40 years never saw road blocked they came in , during the ten minutes i was gone . Followed by big bump from the rear. Did not buy lottery ticket that day , scratched C bumper —brand new plating gorgeous
