Here are pictures showing the back of the filter base. I asked him for pictures of the inside with the lid and filter off. He said his dad had a 300C and a lot of parts.

57 Fury  and 300C are the same part number.

It’s hard to tell from the photo, Nick, but do you see evidence of custom welding on the neck ? They generally look correct, but may have been fabbed.
