RE: {Chrysler 300} RE: 1964 300K rear defroster wire route

Murry and Allan confirmed that the wires run down the DRIVERS side of the car and follow the wires into the trunk and then go on the clips that are there for the existing wires over the blower which is on the passenger side of the package shelf underside.

I ran the wire it does fit.  It looks loke it would be short, but it is not.

I spent more time getting the aluminum plate off the dash to get the hole in it for the switch. The hole in the sub-dash is there, but the trip needs the hole. Of course, to get the hidden screw you have to take the diecast trim off the steering column and to get it out you need to drop the column…

Tomorrow, I am putting the instrument cluster back in for the umpteenth time…

Thank all.  James

We took apart a loaded '64 New Yorker sedan in April in the junkyard and unfortunately I only have pictures of the fully gutted car. I'm pretty sure all those wires ran down the passenger side. Maybe Michael Van Der Veen can chime in. He's got a loaded 300K project car in his shed and was there in the junkyard pulling apart the New Yorker.

The one on the passenger side. I do think the spare tire my hit if it is to go on the driver’s side. I could be wrong however.

Anyone with a ’64 with a factory installed bower back there…how about a photos of it in the trunk?

Which speaker hole are you putting the blower in?

I do not know, hence why I asked. But he wire does not look long enough to go from next to the parking brake release (one hole to the right) then past the glove box and then down the side to the rear.

I sent an email also to Murray to see if he knows.

I thought the wires for those ran down the right side?

Hi All.

I have a rear defroster I am installing in the 300K that I got from Murray. The factory harness for it does not appear to be long enough to route down the left front kick panel then along under the wire covers (that the window wires use) then to the trunk then across the trunk to the passenger side for the blower.

Does anyone have any photos or know if the wire ran under the rear seat at a diagonal to that corner?

The factory harness looks to be complete…

Thanks, James
